Giftspiration: Lauren Toyota’s Holiday Host Gifts Made Easy
Five thoughtful additions to Santa’s list from the Instagram star behind @HotForFood.
I love doing my holiday shopping at Hudson’s Bay, and I can always find amazing things in the housewares department for everyone on my list! I also just get really excited about kitchen gadgets and dishware in general.
Gifts for the kitchen or the dinner table are always thoughtful because they’re useful and/or edible, which everyone loves, and these are usually things people wouldn’t think of getting for themselves.
Here are my ideas for some clever and tasteful gifts you can bring to your host(s) throwing the holiday party this season!
1. Hudson’s Bay Company Kitchen Additions
The classic Hudsons’s Bay Company stripes are cute, and I especially love the apron. If your host spends some quality time in the kitchen, they’ll appreciate this. But you can also find cute foodie-centric items like spatulas, oven mitts, and coffee mugs with the colourful stripes, too!
2. Fondue Set
When it comes to the eats, I never show up to a party empty handed. For one, if you’re vegan you kind of have to think about bringing your own snacks, but you definitely need to share the love. Try making my vegan beer cheese fondue! It’s super easy to whip up in advance and then heat up when you arrive with this affordable and simple fondue set, which is also a cute gift to leave for your host!
3. Cast Iron Skillet
Everyone needs a good cast iron in their cooking arsenal, so this piece from Le Creuset is the gift that keeps on giving! And if you bring it with the appetizer ready to go, I can guarantee it’ll be a hit. I made these easy vegan meatballs with sweet & sour cranberry sauce in this cherry red enamelled cast iron from Le Creuset, which is a great thing to bring along and share.
You could also give a couple of cute handwritten recipe cards for some of your fav ideas for using the piece of cookware you’re gifting, too!
4. Cold Brew Coffee Pitcher
The coffee lovers in your life would be thrilled with one of these glass cold brew pitchers from Core Home. You could bring a chilled, spiked coffee drink to the party for after dinner sipping and leave them with this cool new gadget that’s sure to get a ton of use! If you’re looking for a coffee cocktail idea, I have a vegan Baileys Irish Cream recipe on my blog here.
Just try to not buy anything when you venture into the Hudson’s Bay Christmas shop! It’s impossible. I found lots of fun ornaments that are modern, tasteful and contemporary. These always make a nice gesture, especially for anyone in a new home or with kiddos on the way. I found so many unique pieces that would be cute for anyone building their holiday collection and tree decorating traditions.
