A Taste of Home at Toronto Queen Street
Inspiring guest chefs, demonstrations of the latest kitchen technology and lots of delicious samples.
Our Queen Street store was bursting with flavours last week as we welcomed three culinary stars to the seventh-floor home department.
Master preserver Joel MacCharles shared some of the techniques from his book Batch, and Allyson Bobbitt and Sarah Bell, the pastry artists behind beloved Toronto shop Bobbette & Belle, gave a cupcake demonstration and stayed to sign copies of their new cookbook.
Guests sampled fresh juices from the Braun PureMix Six Program Jug Blender, espresso from the Nespresso Lattissima Pro by De’Longhi, and perfectly mixed ginger snaps from the Cuisinart Precision Master 5.5-Quart Stand Mixer.
Turmeric Teas was brewing samples of its handcrafted blends in the Grosche Sicily 1.2L Infuser Teapot. Both Grosche and Turmeric Teas are Canadian companies that give back to those in need: Turmeric Teas donates a portion of their proceeds to Food Banks Canada, and Grosche has started their own Safe Water Project to provide clean drinking water to communities around the world.
